Description

For some individuals, their career paths are clear from an early age; for others, it takes a lifetime to discover their true calling. In the case of Drew Barbosa, a childhood interest evolved into a fulfilling profession, leading to a thriving plumbing, heating, and cooling enterprise in Dallas.

Drew’s journey began in his youth when he became acquainted with HVAC and plumbing. His neighbor, Ed Henniger, was an industry professional who frequently worked from home. Whenever possible, Drew assisted Ed, absorbing knowledge about air conditioning refrigerant lines and ductwork—a pastime that seamlessly transitioned into practical training.

As he matured, Drew continued to engage in plumbing and HVAC tasks on a part-time basis while pursuing his education. After completing his studies, he joined the freight and trucking sector, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. However, he remained committed to his HVAC and plumbing endeavors, gradually establishing a reputation as a skilled plumber and technician. Eventually, he found himself with more projects than he could handle on a part-time schedule.

In 1979, Drew and his wife, Janet, took a significant step by launching Barbosa Plumbing & Air Conditioning, initially operating from their garage. By 1984, they relocated their expanding business to a dedicated facility on Denton Drive in North Dallas. Since that time, Barbosa Plumbing & Air Conditioning has continued to thrive, with their children also becoming involved in the family business, contributing to installation, training, and growth initiatives.
